If you're looking for the most energy efficient window treatments, look no further. Cellular shades are engineered to trap warm or cool air in specially designed pockets. The unique design of cellular shades allows them to provide unmatched insulating qualities, which ultimately means major savings on heating and cooling costs.
We offer a variety of light filtering and room darkening fabrics in an extensive range of colors. Energy-efficiency, beauty, and creativity combine to make cellular shades a winner.
Cellular window coverings offer incredible privacy and light control. When installed properly, the cellular shades fit very tight to the window. The result is that there is little, if any, light gap on either side of the shade.
If a blackout cellular shade is selected there will be virtually no light that enters through the window. The light filtering cell shade patterns will allow some light to come in, while still offering a high degree of privacy.

Skandia Window Fashions has been very proactive in developing innovative solutions that reduce the risk of strangulation. Our cord-free cellular shade offering is Best for Kids certified, and offers both a standard cordless system as well as a motorized option.
Skandia offers corded cellular shades, and have taken steps to mitigate the risks created by corded shades. However, there is an inherent risk of strangulation any time that cords are present. As such, we encourage that homeowners with children purchase only cordless window treatments.
Upgraded Lift Systems: The continuous cord loop and cord-free lift systems make it much easier to operate your cellular shades. An upgraded lift system is recommended for wider, heavier shades.
Top-Down/Bottom-Up System: With the top-down/bottom-up system a cellular window treatment can be lowered from the top of the window, or can be raised from the bottom of the window. This provides the ability to leave an opening to view out at either the top of the window or the bottom of the window (shown in image).
Sun Up/Sun Down: A sun up/sun down cellular shade is a combination of two shades on one headrail. The top shade is usually a sheer cellular shade, which allows some light to come through. The bottom shade is usually a blackout cellular shade. There is a middle rail separating the two shades, making it possible to open or close each shade as fully as desired. A sun up/sun down shade gives the flexibility of having a blackout cellular shade or a light filtering cellular shade in the same window, on the same headrail.
Vertical: A vertical cellular shade is ideal for sliding glass doors that are exposed to direct sunlight. With a vertical cellular slider, the fabric is turned vertically, attached to a lead rail, and connected to a panel track headrail at the time of installation. The shade can be opened fully to reveal a full view out, or closed fully for maximum light control and energy efficiency.
Motorization: Most cellular shades can be fully motorized. Motorization unlocks a wide variety of options ranging from solar powered motors, hard-wired motors, motors that integrate fully with home automation systems, and motorized window treatments that can be operated from your smartphone or tablet.
